The Tarot is a tool that can be used to help consciously and deliberately shape your future. It is a deck of 78 cards, each having its own unique story, imagery, symbolism and meaning. The Tarot has been used as a tool for divination as far back as the 18thcentury. Earlier forms of Tarot were said to have originated in Europe as far back as the 15th century.
A Tarot deck consists of 78 cards, and is broken into two distinct sections.
The Major Arcana is made up of 22 Cards, numbered 0 to 21, and is often referred to…
This morning I was slogging it out on the treadmill, fighting an out of alignment belt pretty much the entire time. It was annoying as fuck. Trying to slide it back continually didn’t make for a fun work out. This seemingly minor problem became a massive distraction and took my focus completely off what I was trying to achieve.
Which got me thinking….
Where else am I out of alignment in my life?
What is distracting me and taking my eye off the prize?
By alignment I mean, are my actions and results in line with the dream or grand…
Rock bottom is a place I’ve been before in life, in both my relationships and my career. I guess there’s cold comfort in knowing that things can’t get much worse. Tonight I sit here alone, realizing that I’m once again in that all too familiar place. In my mind I can hear that 80’s song from Yazz, ‘The Only Way is Up’. She may be right, but it still feels like shit.
You see, today I saw of photograph of me.
Big deal you say.
Well, it shocked me.
Even though I knew in my heart that things were getting…
For the last year or so I’ve felt completely lost.
This is something I haven’t wanted to admit to myself, or anyone else really. Each day I feel like I’m existing, but not really living. It’s as if I’m on hold, just waiting for something to happen.
But I’m not entirely sure what that something is.
Nothing dramatic or life-changing happened to make me feel this way, unless turning 40 counts. …
Affirmations are something I use in my life everyday. The most common way I use them is to support an outcome that I’m wanting in my life, or to reinforce a current belief or situation.
If you’re not familiar with affirmations, they are basically positive statements that can be short and simple, or long and complex, usually stated in the past tense.
You can use affirmations to further support the thoughts and visualizations you have about things you want to attract into your life.
A few examples on some broad topics are:
Information overload is how I’m feeling right now. Been doing some extra reading and research as part of my journey to become a personal trainer, and the amount of data available on just about any conceivable method of training under the sun is incredible. Knowing where to start, or how to tell the difference between fads, clever marketing gimmicks and genuine material just all blurs into one by the end of it.
It got me to thinking about just how little we all really know in the scheme of things. What I’ve learnt, or taken in over the last few…
For a minute I thought this was my own question……
I absolutely love pizza. Just thinking about it now makes me smile….
But it’s not about me!
This is my response to a question on Quora — one which I’m sure many people have contemplated on their quest for their dream body.
As someone on a journey to better health and weight loss, I believe that long term change is not sustainable if it’s based on deprivation. …
Never Stop Learning
If I had one piece of advice to give anyone, it would be “never stop learning”. In my heart, I believe that if you’re not growing and learning and evolving, then you’re probably living in a rut just waiting out your time on this planet. This might sound harsh, and I’m sure you have a million and one things on your list of responsibilities and commitments, but what is the point if you live the same day over and over, never doing anything different?
When I say never stop learning, please don’t think this means the dull…
How do you set a challenging goal with a deadline?
Write down as many different goals as you can possibly think of that might challenge you and give you the feeling of achievement you’re seeking. Go nuts! Once you start coming up with a few ideas, you’ll find that you get in flow and more will come to you. Don’t try to censor yourself or put any limits on what you can do at this point. Just let your mind wander and see what pops up for you.
Cross some ideas out.
Look at your list. Cross out…
How have your ideas of happiness changed as you’ve aged?
This question was posed on Quora and I felt compelled to share my response with you here as well. Being happy is something that is a non-negotiable in my life, and it’s something we have complete control over.
Happiness has become one of my highest values as I’ve aged. In my younger years I was more caught up in making other people happy, usually at my own expense. These days I’m comfortable with using the word ‘no’ and making choices that are in my own best interests. …
